Great quality

The quality look and feel of this handguard in my opinion is perfect. It gave the look I wanted. It has the feel of a sturdy and high end handguards. well made with quality materials. Now I'm waiting for a mk18 m lok version to come out.

Good fitment solid lockup

Put this on a 16" barrel with a carbine length gas system. Looks and functions great. Would love to try the 9.6" FSP cutout in Coyote tan next for a 10.5 build.

It's pretty much the same thing. Slightly different finish.

12.7 "RIS II" rail

I ordered this rail to replace an airsoft (Madbull licensed replica) rail that I modified to fit on a real steel, and was not disappointed with the swap. The build quality is great, the finish is smooth and even, and the rail feels solid like the real DD thing. Install is easy and straightforward (just like the real DD rail), and it took me more time removing the gas block (nice and 5ight to the barrel) than it did to install the actual rail. The only thing to watch out for, as others have said, the barrel nut is a little soft.... I torqued mine to 45 ft/lbs and had to hit the edges of the wrench cutouts with a small jewelers file for a couple quick back and forth swipes, but other than that everything was and is flawless. I'm so impressed by the rail that I actually just ordered the 9.6" FSB today for a new 11.5" build that I'm starting.

Mk18 9.5" FSP cutout

This is a really good handgaurd and I have no regrets buying it. I originally got this as a placeholder for a more serious build because it was going to take some time to find the rail I wanted which is an older Noveske quad rail with a switchblock cut out. Decided to just keep this one and stop looking for the Noveske. If by chance I run into one in the future for a good price I'll jump on it, but as of right now I'm good with the Ohhunt rail. This thing is solid!
There is 1 exception though, the barrel nut; which is the most important piece IMO. There's like O tolerance between the barrel nut and the rail pieces that bolt up to it. It fits in the slot very snug which is usually a good thing, but the material it's made of is soft. Torqued it down to 45 ft/lb and the wrench slots on the barrel nut deformed so it wouldn't fit in the handgaurd. I was able to make it work though. The 6 bolts made it easy pull the rail over the barrel nut. Definitely scraped some aluminum off of the inside of the rail where it mates up with the barrel nut though. Another issue with the barrel nut is that it pins the bolt up plate against the receiver and clocks it slightly to the right causing misalignment with the gas tube hole where the gas tube wont insert into the hole. The fix for this: before torquing the barrel nut down, I put the largest punch I could fit in the gas tube hole in the receiver and then torqued down the barrel nut. Even after this though the rail was still slightly canted. I could've lived with it, but I was more concerned with the integrity of the barrel nut.
So I bought a Daniel Defense Barrel nut (which did not work on it's own because it is slightly shorter than the Ohhunt barrel nut) and a pack of stainless steel 25mmx35mm shims to make up for the shorter barrel nut height. A 1mm shim was all that was needed. It worked out perfect and is solid AF. It was solid with the original barrel nut too, but for piece of mind I'll take the DD barrel nut.
