Appearance is great. Fit and finish is excellent. The price fantastic. I'm running much more expensive handguards, not anymore. This thing is so light and has a solid lock up. Took a little fidgeting to time the steel barrel nut, had to use one of my thinner on hand shims to line everything up, but this is what a "build" is all about. This is my second Ohhunt handguard and I will be back again, no sense in throwing away my hard earned $$$.

Poor fitment. Barrel nut hand guard holes sit too far back. Tested it out on two different uppers. 1/8 inch off. There is a reason why ohhunt is out of barrel nut spacers. I’m going to cut the back of the rail off to get it to fit. If it was any more than 50 bucks I’d be pissed. Quality control is not the best with this product.

It’s well designed and light weight. The desert tan is on the red side and is not even close to FDE. The inside is not painted which doesn’t matter since I’ll be repainting it. I had to file off the lugs to fit my billet uppers but that is no big deal. Overall you can’t go wrong for the price but it's not perfect either.

I had to file off some of the material to get it to sit flush. It was a pita to get the barrel nut to line up. It’s just a 22 so I got it close to spec and called it good. The color doesn’t match any other tan parts I own. It’s worth the money I guess.

I really wanted to be able to tell my friends that OHHUNT is a no-brainer no worries place for parts. I really did. The package for my AR handguard came safely packaged from China. The product upon first inspection was for the price almost perfect. I liked the lightweight feel of the handguard and the design was pleasing to the eye and provided a much better grip of the rifle. I was replacing a very heavy Bear Creek Arsenal handguard on my 6.5 Grendel AR-15. Little did I know how hard it would be to remove the BCA barrel nut. I couldn't reuse the BCA nut because the handguard I procured from you guys was lower profile ultra lightweight which meant a smaller diameter barrel nut (which was fine in my opinion.) The problem I ran into was once I got the OHHUNT barrel nut on my barrel and torqued it down to spec with my 1/2 torque wrench the handguard didn't match up with the holes now. Not because I couldn't reach them bc it was over torqued but because the holes were to FAR past with the nut even slightly torqued. I noticed the gap I needed to close to fit the screws in the nut through the handguard was about 3.5mm or so. So to fix the issue I used my dremel and sandpaper to lap and sand off about 3.3mm of aluminum material on the beginning of the handguard In the end it worked out and looks pretty good and best of all it's so much lighter around the barrel now. I still feel like I need to give 4 stars for the fit and finish of the handguard and the care you took sending it to me in safe packaging. I will have to take a star away from the experience because to get it to fit my barrel I had top modify your product significantly. All things considered I will be recommending OHHUNT products to my friends. Thanks. -JGR

got this in 15 inch. the general quality of machining and anodising is pretty good, especially for the price. everything seems straight and well finished. the problem I had was the fact that the inside had some longitudinal scuff/scratch marks, as if someone was trying to shove it onto something, couldn't do it and gave up. Don't really know if it is a factory blemish, or someones returned item that they then shipped to me, but not very pleasant to discover nonetheless. Contacted the customer service and at first they refused to do anything, but after some "negotiations" they refunded me 5$ on airwallex, which would be ok I guess, but the thing is, I don;t have airwallex - I paid with a card. Oh well, I guess it's the thought that counts :D

EDIT: So, I learned that even though I don't have airwallex, my card will still be eventually refunded through airwallex, so that's a plus! Also, it seems that the customer service rep didn't really notice the scratches in the video I sent them and that is the reason I misunderstood and thought they refused to acknowledge the problem initially, but after re-reviweing it they noticed the issue and as it is fairly minor and not even noticeable when put on the rifle, they still refunded me part of the order, which is great in my books. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could (0.5 star is deducted for barely noticeable scratches on the inside).

p.s. the seller seems to be genuinely interested in customer satisfaction, so that's also a big plus in my books. With this mentality, I'm sure they'll be successful. I've recommended this exact handguard to two of my friends already. for this price, you can't go wrong. I'm not editing over my initial review, but I'm adding some more info to clear any confusion and give an update on my experience.

Super light, easy to time with shims and positive locking milling at receiver interface. Nice finish and clean and solid.

Great for lightweight build. The barrel nut was only 2.3 oz compared to the 4+oz of traditional barrel nuts. Handguard was 7.5oz without barrel nut and 9.8oz with barrel nut. It does scratch a little easily but for the price it's hard to compete with.

I wanted a lighter handguard that would allow my Dead Air Mask to fit under it. This ohhunt handguard fit the bill perfectly. The barrel nut fit perfectly with the addition of a couple of the supplied shims. I did use blue locktite on the handguard attaching screws so they don't back out.

This Handguard is bada$$… Pictures do not do it justice. Way better in person. I plan to buy several more at different lengths. Really good quality as well.

This handguard is great. It is light weight and really helps save a little weight when running a heavy barrel on a setup. I have a few on a different upper assembly. While I do love the handguard it is limited to just the sides and top and bottom for accessories like WML. You cannot offset a weapon light or others to this item. That is not a deal breaker for me at all, but some people may not like this. The anti-rotation system works perfect on regular profile lowers. Never had a QD link fall out etc etc. I have seen some reviews giving this product a 1 star for "lack of quality control" while using a lower that does not follow the normal M4 upper profiles and being much larger and wider than what the cut outs are designed with. Ohhunt, you should really make a note of this in your description to make sure people using custom uppers don't give you an unfair review because they didn't look at the profile and the style of the cut outs. Personally, I give this product 5 stars. Out of the 3 that I have bought of this design they fit over my aero uppers perfectly and I have zero issues with them. I have a dirtbird hand guard that costs 3x more and I like this one almost as much as that one. Any hunting upper I build usually gets one of Ohhunts hand guards, depending on the application. 0 issues from me, 0 complaints. This is more than adequate and at a very good price. I am not a rich man; I do not want to spend 300+ on something that's going to be banged up or scratched to **** out there while hunting. This and an occasional rattle can job on the rifle and using it for what it is, a tool. I will be buying more in the future.

I bought this for a budget .300 AAC build. I like the value and the look of this handguard. It arrived quickly from Chicago. The machining and the anodized finish are excellent. I am a happy customer!

This is my first free float handguard with screws in the side. That being said, it took me a couple of tries to get the handguard in the correct position relative to the **** holes in the barrel nut. Love the finished look and functionality.

I am not a hand guard connoisseur, To be honest, I bought this because I'm on a budget and I liked the way it looked. I was not expecting much, really just hoping for a little durability. When it arrived I was definitely surprised at the quality. The only thing I had trouble with was lining up the barrel nut so the handguard would fit right( and by trouble I mean I got it on the second try using the spacers provided) bottom line unless you are super handguard savvy there is no need to spend big bucks on one. I will be buying more of these for future builds.

No
