I bought this for a spare parts build I had on a shelf. I wasn't sure what to expect for the price, but it was going to be used for a tester to see if I liked the configuration of the upper. I'm honestly pretty blown away by the quality of the handguard. This thing is very well made, the fit and finish is much better than you'd expect. The quadrails aren't sharp like some of the others on the market. I have a name brand USA made competitor handguard thats 2.5x the price and that one has sharp edges and feels much more abrasive on the hands. The ohhunt handguard is smooth and the edges of the rails are completely deburred and sculpted in a way that feels very pleasant. The entire handguard system installed very easily and once everything was torqed down it becomes extremely rigid. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to use some blue loctite on the fasteners if you plan on leaving it permanently installed. Overall this is a great buy, and I would consider picking up another one for a future build, and I've recommended it to several friends.
The product it self isn’t a terrible quality but the customer service is nonexistent. The barrel nut I received clearly had the holes drilled in the wrong spot so I couldn’t install the gas block/tube. I tried to get ahold of them so could possibly switch it out and never even received a reply. So if you purchase this and need help you will never get it. I ended up having to order a barrel nut shim kit just to be able to install the hangars properly.
The fit and finish is good on this handguard. Had to fit with shims to time the barrel nut and handguard, but that is always the case with something like this. I really like how this looks on my AR
Fast shipping and badass handguards
I much prefer this type of single point sling mount as it is totally ambidextrous, but not in the way. I'm left handed so a solid mount that's not in my way is a real plus.
